MARK Bennett was among the Bewdley bowlers to tear through their opponents' batting in a six-wicket win at Stourbridge.
The town took their first 20-point haul this season in Worcestershire League Division One in a match reduced to 45 overs due to rain.
Bewdley asked their hosts to bat and soon bowled dismissed them for 103 in 41 overs with Bennett taking 4-48 alongside two wickets each for Simon Mauger and Mark Hudson.
The visitors got off to a superb start in reply with openers Simon Jones (15) and Michael Gavan (24) putting on 50 for the first wicket.
Mauger was out for 24 late on when chasing a wide delivery but Paul Edwards (15 not out) and Simon Smith (4 not out) steered Bewdley home.
Stourbridge 103, Bewdley 106-4.
Bewdley's seconds were also on form in beating Stourbridge by seven wickets as Matt Cowdrey blasted a half-century.
Stourbridge chose to bat first but were all out for 158 in the penultimate six balls of the 45-over match.
Dean Wilkes starred with 4-54 but Tom Bayliss had an excellent debut with 2-34 and David Jones (2-29) also chipped in.
In reply, Bewdley had early problems with D Jones bowled for four but Andy Robinson and Cowdrey inched their way forwards.
Robinson went for 39, Cowdrey 52, Gareth Lewis 35 not out and David Meek 24 not out, reaching the required total with an over to spare.
Stourbridge 158, Bewdley 2nds 159-3.
The friendly match at home to Kings Norton on Sunday ended in a draw after Edwards fired 94 runs in their 187-4.
Paul Booton added 30 and Andy James 40 not out before Norton limped to 86-4 with two wickets for Cyril Ramsay and one for Gavan.
Youngsters Will Wescott, Sean Robinson and Kumar Partik bowled well.

Bewdley seconds beat Ombersley by 86 runs after totalling 224-5 with Pete Mauger in hot form with 98.
David Mills (41), Steve Brown (28), Robert Combes (27 not out) were also among the runs before David Cowdrey (3-12) and Combes (2-28) impressed with the ball.
