A 15-year-old boy was set upon by two teenagers while walking to school in Kidderminster.
He was left with a bloody nose and bruises to his face as a result of the attack, in Chester Road on Friday, April 30.
The assault took place at 8.50am, near the junction with Chaddesley Road. As he passed two youths one of them pushed him and the other hit him on the head. They then ran off.
PC Peter Clark, of Kidderminster police, said: "This was a vicious attack which left the victim with a bleeding nose and a bruised face and we are determined to find those responsible.
"At this time on a school day, there would have been lots of people around and we would like to hear from anyone who saw anything that would help us to progress our enquiries."
The first youth is described as white, aged 16, 5ft 11ins and of slim build. He was wearing a blue and white striped jumper and blue jeans.
The second was also white, 16 or 17 and of stocky build, with short hair. He was wearing a black Nike baseball cap, a black coat and jeans.
