GARDENING CLUB: At the April meeting, committee member Jane Gilks gave a flower arranging demonstration. Jane, a former chairman of Evesham Floral Art, has been a member of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies for 12 years. Three very different examples of floral art were created using a varied assortment of flowers and foliage. As well as being accomplished at flower arranging, Jane is also a keen gardener and gave members tips on how to condition material for use in flower arranging.
The monthly competition, A Colourful Collection From Your Garden was won by Rowlatt Cook with Dorothy Turpitt and Jean Dyke coming second and third respectively.
The next meeting will take place at the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, May 26, when David Worthington will talk about Showing at Chelsea. The monthly competition will be a flower arrangement in a wine glass.
