SWIMMER Claire Cashmore had a double reason to celebrate after impressing against an international field in the Paralympic trials at Sheffield.
Cashmore, 15, will be off to the Athens Paralympics in September after being picked for the Great Britain squad.
And the Kidderminster girl swam a new British 100 metre backstroke record time in the S9 category of one minute 19.28 seconds to beat a best set at Atlanta in 1996.
Cashmore won four bronzes in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley, as well as coming fourth in the 100m breaststroke.
The Wyre Forest Swimming Club ace's highlight was beating Sydney 2000 Paralympics silver medal winner Sarah Bailey, 26, in the 100m backstroke.
Her father Duncan said: "Claire will be over the moon. She has worked extremely hard for it."
