ROWING: Stourport juniors' spirits were not dampened by the rain as they returned with 16 medals from the Avon County Regatta.

They produced a sparkling display of neat and controlled racing on Saturday at the multi-lane course in Swindon.

The town's boat club came up with four golds, seven silvers and five bronzes from 18 events.

Dan Hastie beat strong opposition to win the men's junior novice single sculling event.
