JUDO: A string of Samurai players are wearing different colour belts after a set of recent gradings.
Around 25 clubs sent players who were bidding to progress from the top of the yellow belts and upwards.
And at a black belts grading Samurai's Paul Clarke earned more points towards his second-level award with fine wins.
Karl Gaughan, Tom Walker and Benjy Connor all moved to middle blue, while Ben Dowling leapt to top blue.
Ben Newbury went one stage better and gained his brown belt, the highest colour in junior judo.
Kate Walker earned her top brown with a superb display, easily defeating players 20kg heavier, and John Connor joined her.
Kelly Edwards was on devastating form as she easily defeated much heavier players and jumped from the bottom of the green belts to a well deserved blue.
The light Wesley Connor also made his way to blue after some spectacular giant-killing acts.
Ryan Pitcock became the third Samurai promotion to blue and Becky Holmes went from middle green to middle blue with the help of a superb left-handed shoulder throw.
Holmes is the latest player produced by Stourbridge and then encouraged to move onto Kidderminster by her respected coach for the higher level training.
Rosie Tramontana threw all her opponents for maximum points to move from top yellow to top orange belt.
Katherine Lloyd Jones moved from the bottom of the oranges to green and two good wins allowed David Hadley to wear top orange.
Matthew Lowe, already a top orange, moved to middle green belt.
