CHESS: Frank Pickett produced a string of late wins to take the honours in Kidderminster's 10th annual handicap tournament.
Pickett repelled a strong challenge from second-placed John Varilone.
Mark Riley won his first six games but faded and was joint third with Dave Close.
Full scores: Pickett 8, Varilone 7.5, Close and Riley 7, John Wrench 6.5, Ken Durnell and Maurice Bissell 6, Gerald Link 5, Clive Billinge and Paul Thomas 4, Tim Yates and Terry Pountney 2.5.
