MALVERN Rugby Club's continuing policy of developing rugby for all in the community has been rewarded by the award of a prestigious tournament this weekend.
On Sunday the Club will host the English Women's Under 18 Group Finals at Spring Lane.
The four teams involved are Fullerians (London Group winners), Club Worcestershire (Midlands), Avon (South West) and Greater Manchester (North).
Malvern have been awarded the finals, played as a round-robin tournament, following the hosting of several training camp weekends and coaching clinics for the Women's Rugby Football Union earlier this season.
Spring Lane Director of Rugby David Robins said: "This is a great honour for the Malvern club - the Union's officials were impressed with the facilities and the hospitality offered to them, and also with Malvern's selection as a Centre of Excellence for the development of Community Rugby.
"This has already seen the installation of State of the Art training lights, with more facilities to come over the ensuing months."
Malvern officials are hoping that as many people as possible will come to watch the future stars of women's rugby in action. Play starts at 11am.
