THE funeral takes place tomorrow of a mother of two who died after a road traffic accident in Broadway earlier this month.
Anne Girling from Laverton was driving her Peugeot 106 in Station Road when it was in collision with a refuse lorry just after 9am on Wednesday, May 5.
Fire crews from Evesham and Broadway attended the scene, and Mrs Girling was freed from her car and rushed to Worcester Royal Infirmary but paramedics and hospital staff were unable to save her.
Neighbours in the small village where the 45-year-old director of media and communications livedwere trying to come to terms this week with the fatal accident which has left two small boys without a mother.
Parish clerk Ann Kelly said: "They are a private family who keep themselves to themselves, but this village is very small and I think I can speak for them when I say we were all very shocked and upset to hear the terrible news."
Mrs Girling was the wife of Tony and mother to James and Robert. Her funeral is to take place at St Saviours Roman Catholic Church in Broadway at 12 noon. Floral tributes will be acceptable from mourners, or if preferred, donations for Marie Curie can be sent to Philip Tomlins funeral directors at 36/37 The Leys, Evesham, WR11 3AP.
An inquest into Mrs Girling's death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday to a date to be fixed.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash. Contact them with information on 08457 444888 quoting incident number 42C/050504.
