THE chief of Pershore fire station says he is alarmed by the growing number of stolen cars being torched in the Vale.
Sub officer Chris Parsons said his crew had been called to three burning vehicles in less than a week.
Recently, in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday Evesham firefighters were called to three vehicles on fire, in Evesham, Bretforton and Broadway.
The recent spate of incidents in Pershore began on Thursday when firefighters were called to a burning car on Seaford Lane, near Pinvin. On Saturday, they attended a car on fire on Wyre Piddle Road and on Sunday they were called to a torched vehicle at the Nafford Lock car park, near Eckington. Mr Parsons said all the incidents were suspicious.
"It is becoming more and more of a normal thing which is a worry."
Police spokesman Richard Bull said: "We would appeal to the public to let us know if they see anything suspicious."
