A CONCERT with readings by Shakespearean actor Jeffrey Dench hopes to raise money for the Stratford Music Festival and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
Young Cork flautist Louisa Dennehy and harpist Jean Kelly will perform in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the Shakespeare Centre for the joint fundraising concert.
The varied programme should include composers like Bach, Perschetti, Damase and Bizet, finishing with two Irish Airs arranged by Jean Kelly, and readings from Jeffrey Dench, Judi's brother.
The concert next Thursday will be the second joint fundraising effort by the trust and festival organisers and hopes to ensure audiences are kept up to date with festival plans this year.
Their first fundraising effort was a concert in February by Romanian pianist Diana Ionescu, who has been invited to perform in the lunchtime concert series at the festival, which takes place in October.
Tickets for the concert next Thursday are £10 and are available from the box office on 01926 496277 or from Anne Wilson at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust on 01789 204016.
