THE godfather of a leukaemia sufferer from Stourport is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the hospital that treats the sick five-year-old.
Justin Exley, who runs Justtan in Kidderminster, has organised a charity auction to take place at The Brasserie in Kidderminster on Sunday and says he hopes the event - which sold out within two days of tickets going on sale - will generate at least £2,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The event, which includes a three-course meal, will see diners bidding for items including a signed Westlife album and a Kidderminster Harriers shirt, as well as a Harrods food hamper and a year's gym membership.
Mr Exley, 30, said he had been inspired by his godson Danny Pennell's fight against leukaemia, which was diagnosed last summer.
"It just made me stop and think - and I thought it would be great to give something back to the hospital," he said.
"The Brasserie are doing the food at cost price so all the profits are going to Birmingham Children's Hospital," he added.
"I've been planning it since Christmas and I'm looking to raise at least £2,000."
A raffle is also being held on the night and tickets are available from Justtan.
