AS the organiser of the May Day Event in Priory Park, I would like to reply to Barbara Jones (Your Letters, May 7), concerning her experience of the event.
I am always sorry when a person does not enjoy an event I have organised, but experience tells me that you can't please everybody.
I apologise to everyone for the power failure at the bandstand, but it appears this was not down to an overload due to a tea urn.
The MEB, who arrived at the end of the day, pointed out an old-fashioned timer that had cut the power at 1.30pm. I have written to Malvern Hills District Council and Malvern Theatres to inquire why this occurred and why no-one knew about it.
I am unable to comment on the staffing at Malvern Theatres, but I think the staff there work long hours and were more busy than usual because of the event.
I urge Barbara to come to our projected Fringe gig, to include Vo and Co, in June at the Great Malvern Club.
