Recently, I had reason to visit the offices of Malvern Town Council.
I found that, in order to gain admittance, I had to stand on the busy pavement, press a buzzer and explain my business over an intercom, while traffic on the road made hearing questions difficult and everyone passing by could hear my answers.
Fortunately, my business was in no way personal or private but other people might not be so fortunate.
Why is this necessary? Surely the rate of Council Tax levied is high enough to cover the cost of a receptionist. Have other readers had the same problem?
