IN your report (Ledbury Reporter, April 30) of Ledbury English Festival's street spectacular our mayor, Councillor Keith Francis paid tribute to Andy Ward, John McQuaid and all their helpers for another outstandingly successful festival.
As someone who, until a year ago, sat on no less than five committees in the town before having to reduce my commitments to those of chairman, Ledbury and Area Regeneration Partnership and chairman of LITA (Ledbury Indepen-dent Traders' Association), I am very much aware that it is more or less the same 30 or so fantastic volunteers who comprise virtually all the committees that work so hard to improve Ledbury for its residents and visitors, making Ledbury more exciting and fun as a place in which to both live and visit.
Furthermore, I am very often heard to exclaim: "If only Ledbury had a few more persons, volunteers, so totally dedicated, hard working and as innovative as Andy and John, Ledbury would not just be a wonderful town in which to live - it would be fantastic!"
All of my LITA members extend their own thanks to Andy, John, the festival committee and their helpers on the day for keeping Ledbury very much on the map, the place to visit.
LEN C HUFF, The Homend, Ledbury.
