MUSIC by Dr John Sanders OBE, the late president of Malvern Festival Chorus, will be included in a concert by the choir in his memory.

Dr Sanders died in December and was noted internationally as a conductor, organist and composer, as well as for his local musical support.

His song cycle Song of the Hills will be performed at Malvern Theatres on Saturday, May 22, as part of an English composers programme including works by Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Darlow and Stanford.

Highlights include Denys Darlow's Te Deum, Stan-ford's Songs of the Fleet, Elgar's Chanson de Matin and Pomp and Circumstance No 4 and Vaughan Will-iams' The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune.

The concert will be conducted by Iain Sloan, while the soloists will be soprano Susan Black and baritone Peter Savidge.

A trained chorister, Iain Sloan studied music at Goldsmiths' College, London and appeared as soloist across the UK and in Europe.

He has been director of music at Malvern College since 2000 and is in his fourth season as conductor of Malvern Festival Chorus.

Susan Black has performed across the UK with groups including The Treorchy Male Voice Choir, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and the Band of the Grenadier Guards.

She sang in the first performance of John Sanders' Song of the Hills in 2001 and teaches at Malvern College.
