THE film clip that Jon Burgess refers to (You Say, Wednesday, April 21) showed a deer being killed instantly by a single rifle shot to the heart.
The deer died instantly and therefore there were no animal welfare implications.
This is stark contrast to deer killed by the three remaining staghound packs.
These deer are often chased for hours and to the point of exhaustion, before they are shot.
