MOTOR SPORT: A racing driver was air-lifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital after crashing his car at the opening meeting of Shelsey Walsh's hill climb season at the weekend.
Bob Gale, from Worcester, complained of back pains after the collision, just before 4.30pm on Saturday and stayed in his vehicle at the Worcestershire hill, Teme Valley, near Martley, for the air ambulance to arrive and safely remove him.
The meeting, which marks the 99th year of motor sport at the hill, was held up for over an hour.
Mr Gale was discharged from hospital later on Saturday night.
