WORCESTER were indebted to their overseas player Campbell Wilson as they recorded their first victory of the season in the Birmingham Cricket League Division Two.
The 49-run win over Pelsall at the Gordon Jones Memorial Ground came after Wilson's haul of 6-29 for the home side.
Paul Granger won the toss for the visitors and invited Worcester to bat on a good pitch, lacking in pace due to recent rains.
Russell Bryan soon lost his wicket for a duck but Iain McLaren and Dan McKay restored the situation before they were both dismissed, McLaren for a fine 36 and McKay for 13.
The good work was carried on by Richard Gardner and Mark Chambers, but the star of the show was Mat Foster who came in at number five and stayed until the end of the innings compiling a faultless 66no including seven fours and two sixes as his side reached 180-9 off their 55 overs. Pick of the visitors' attack was Leroy Parsons with 4-59.
In reply, Pelsall lost two early wickets but skipper Paul Granger and Stuart Stevens added 56 for the third wicket.
However, with the score on 64, three wickets fell to leave the visitors in a weak position from which they never recovered.
Wilson dismissed Granger for 28 and continued to wreak havoc with the remaining batsmen, taking 6-29 as the visitors were bundled out for 131 in the 48th over.
Worcester took 24 points to Pelsall's five.
Worcester's seconds were involved in a thriller in the reverse fixture at Pelsall.
The visitors made 154-7 in their 50 overs with the in-form Chris Genever making 46, well supported by Alan Levy with 29.
In reply, the home side lost wickets at regular intervals but they managed to reach 153-8 in the 50th over, to leave them two runs short of victory.
It was Worcester who took the winning draw.
Chris Franklin was the in form bowler for Worcester taking 3-63 in a lengthy spell of 21 overs and the visitors brought home 12 points to Pelsall's six.
