DETECTIVES investigating the death of skydiver Stephen Hilder say they have the results of new forensic tests.
In April, Humberside police said they had made a "significant" discovery and started new DNA and fibre tests.
The results are now being discussed with Mr Hilder's family and an announcement is expected later this week.
Mr Hilder, of Hereford, died after falling 13,000 feet when competing in a skydiving contest at Hibaldstow airfield, in North Lincolnshire last July. The cords of his parachute had been cut.
During the investigation into his death, Humberside Police have interviewed almost 2,500 people and taken nearly 800 written statements.
Police have denied reports that the Army officer cadet from the Royal Military College of Science, at Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, may have taken his own life.
