TEDDY bears and their owners will gather on the Plovers Rise playing field in Kempsey for a special picnic and treasure hunt next month.
The Rocking Horse Pre-School, which meets in Kempsey Youth Centre, is planning the event on Monday, June 7, to raise some much-needed funds for toys and equipment.
The pre-school caters for 24 pupils each morning and, in addition, about 30 mothers bring their offspring to the Mother and Toddler Group on Monday afternoons.
Hunt
They have all been invited to take their teddy bears to the picnic, which will be followed by a sponsored treasure hunt.
"They will be looking for 10 colourful pictures of teddy bears and there will be stickers for each child when they find one," said fund-raising officer Vanessa Kimpton.
To add to the fun, the Sure Start team have provided 100 colourful balloons and posters and the Children's Information Service will be there too.
