GOOD LUNCH CLUB: The proceeds from the first lunch were sent to the Willow Stroke Unit at Evesham. A letter from the stroke unit was read out that a bicycle had been bought with the donation.
Although the attendance at the second lunch was less than the previous occasion, the sum raised was still £166. The proceeds will be sent to the Cobalt Unit at Cheltenham.
The lunch club organisers will divide future donations between the Stroke Unit and the Cobalt Unit.
GARDEN CLUB: Wolf Wahl was the guest speaker at the April meeting. By illustrated slides, he described how he designed his garden.
Located in Evesham, his garden has 330 perennials and 800 grasses and was in the National Gardens Scheme for a number of years. Mr Wahl has cultivated this small, attractive garden since 1956.
The competition Easter Arrangement was won by S Morris, second was J Hartman and S Dunlop was third.
The next meeting will be on Monday at the usual time and venue and the speaker will be Julia Scott on Herbs and their Uses. Competition: branch of a flowering shrub.
