FORMER racketball masters champion turned coach Ali Aziz put in a classic display to win Club Ventura's sponsored championships at the weekend.
The 56 year old former World Squash number seven was one of 25 players who entered the men's tournament which offered prize money of £200 to the winner.
Aziz cruised through the earlier rounds and although squash team player Mark Field gave his all in the semi final he could not match the precision of the Egyptian, losing 3-0.
In the other half of the draw, James Bralee and Stuart Harris made short work of their early opponents before meeting in an epic semi final.
The first four sets were shared before Bralee showed the greater stamina to take the final game after more than an hour and a half of play.
Aziz was giving away 33 years to Bralee in the final, but started better and showed greater racket control to take the first game.
Bralee showed more variety in the second game to level the scores.
But Aziz showed no signs of anxiety and quickly re-assumed control before pressing home the advantage in the fourth and taking the game and prize money.
The ladies event with a £50 prize went to Diane Liddelow who gained the most points in a round-robin tournament.
