Feckenham 2
Malvern Town 1
(AET)
FECKENHAM capped an impressive season with some deserved silverware after an injury time penalty winner against Malvern Town.
Brian Powell grabbed a brace for the Millers after they travelled to Pershore Town on Saturday, May 8, to take part in the final.
Millers keeper Dave Gorton settled his final day nerves with two fine saves early on before Powell grabbed his first through a fine solo effort after the half hour mark.
But Malvern fought back and equalised two minutes after half time forcing the game into injury time.
But the excitement got to the Malvern defence as one of their defence was forced off the field after a handball and two minutes later a Malvern substitute pushed Powell in the back giving the referee no choice but to point to the spot.
Powell made no mistake with the penalty.
Millers boss Lee Adams said: "We played extremely well - Brian Powell ran the show.
"He prepared himself in the right way, he always wants to apply himself and on the day he was up for it - and it showed.
"Even after they equalised I thought we were the stronger side and always on top."
Feckenham's success continued into the reserves as they beat Mile Oak Rovers 3-1 in their Challenge Urn Final on Tuesday, May 11.
