THE Russians are coming to Stratford for a unique concert at the Civic Hall on Monday evening.
The Central Band of the White Russian Army, together with guest soloists from The Bolshoi and dancers from the Belarussian National Folk Dance Academy, will present a Russian Spectacular.
One of the finest military orchestras in the world, they combine traditional Russian folk music with a wide range of modern big band favourites and international music.
The event is set to help forge new links and re-establish existing friendships between Russia and the area and also marks the 60th anniversary of D Day and the liberation of the former Soviet Union.
Concert producer Norman Rogerson MBE said: "This will bring to the area some of the finest musicians in the world.
"The event will help foster links between Britain and Russia through the universal language of music."
The concert begins at 7.30pm and will culminate in a spectacular performance of Tchaikovsky's famous 1812 Overture. Tickets, priced £10-£12 (concessions available) on 01789 207100.
