A retired postman has been jailed for nine months for sex attacks on a 10-year-old girl.
Malcolm Grogan committed the offences six years ago after a swimming session, Hereford Crown Court heard.
He fondled the victim's chest and kissed her on it, said Jason Aris, prosecuting. Judge David Matthews ordered 67-year-old Grogan, of Old Orchard, Upton-on-Severn, to register with police as a sex offender for life.
Complaint
Mr Aris said the pensioner touched the victim after a session in the splash pool in Tewkesbury in 1998.
He was arrested in November last year after the girl made a complaint to her mother.
Grogan, a married man of previous good character, admitted two counts of indecent assault.
His barrister Carolyn Kenyon-Jackson said he was remorseful and had acted in a moment of madness.
He had been married 44 years and had a supportive family. She handed a number of character references to the court including one from Upton's mayor.
The defendant's wife, who had written a letter to the judge asking for mercy, was in tears at the court as he was jailed.
