FORMER Hereford United hot-shot Steve Guinan scored twice for England's National Game XI but they still lost 3-2 to the Republic of Ireland in Banff in their Four Nations Tournament opener.
Cheltenham-bound Guinan opened the scoring but Ireland hit back to lead 3-1 mid-way through the second half before the 29-year-old striker grabbed his second late on.
Hereford's Matt Baker and Andy Tretton started for England, while Worcester City keeper Danny McDonnell was on the bench.
