WRITER, broadcaster and lecturer, John Pilkington, is to give his presentation The Royal Road of the Incas in St John's Church, Bromsgrove, on Friday, June 18, in aid of the church's Landmark Appeal.
John made his name in the 1980's as a travel writer and photographer, and more recently has became known for his adventure travel documentaries on BBC Radio 4.
He will share his spectacular slide and sound recordings in an evening following eight months walking the ancient Inca tracks through 1,500 miles in the Andes, on a trip full of surprises and fascinating discoveries.
Appeal chairman, David Slade, said: "After hearing his fascinating presentation, I was delighted when John agreed to come to Bromsgrove and support the Landmark Appeal. I think we are extremely fortunate to be able to welcome such a highly travelled, enthusiastic and well known personality to St John's, and I hope to see a packed church on June 18."
Tickets are available in advance for £7.50, to include light refreshments. For more details, contact Jo Slade on 01527 835734.
