WYTHALL got off to a flying start in the Warwickshire League Division Two beating Leek Wootton by 25 runs at their Silver Street ground.
After losing the toss Wythall were put into bat by their opponents and with a slow outfield managed a creditable 164 all out with Nick Tongue leading the way with 38 runs.
But the visitors found the going even harder and with skipper Martin Priest on top form were all out for 139.
Priest took three wickets for 45 off 15 overs.
The victory was made even more special by the youngsters who made an impact on the team.
In particular 18 year old wicket keeper Tom Sawyer who was making his debut.
Next on the agenda for Wythall will be a tough match away at Wishaw.
Vice captain Matthew Elwell said: "Wishaw came down a division last year so it's going to be a tough one.
"But it's going to be interesting and a good test for our side."
Five Ways Old Edwardians however had a difficult time away at High Croft Great Barr University who notched up 238 for 9 before taking apart the Five Ways batsman for just 80 runs.
