A TV cameraman from the Spa is preparing to swap his equipment for two wheels for charity.
James French is no stranger to sports coverage but before he sets off to record the Olympics in Athens he will take part in a marathon bike ride for charity.
James, 43, who lives with his wife and three children in Alexander Avenue, will be one of 27,000 participants in the London to Brighton sponsored ride on Sunday, June 20, organised by the British Heart Foundation.
Although he's been cycling since was seven, James has only taken part in local events before, and hopes to complete the 54 miles on his trusty 25-year-old Raleigh touring bike.
"I'm doing it to help me get fit and raise money for the charity," he said.
"I've been pledged about £200 so far but would really like to raise a minimum of £500. If any companies or individuals would like to sponsor me, I would be very grateful."
To sponsor James call 07855 743845, e-mail jkfrench@mac.com or log on to the website, www.bhf.org.uk/sponsor/jamesfrench/
