A DISTRICT councillor, who fears for the safety of pedestrians, has voiced concerns at the amount of soil washing onto pavements in Hampton Lovett.
Councillor Andrew Christian-Brookes claims problems started on the A442 Droitwich to Kidderminster Road because contractors failed to seed the areas with grass and now every time it rains, soil is washed onto pavements, making it slippery.
"The pavement is next to the dual carriageway and many people use this route. People living in the area use it to walk to and from the town and workers walk to and from factories including the Big Bear factory," he said.
"I noticed this weekend that yet again there was a light film of soil across the pavements. There is also a lot of other unfinished work on the road. My biggest concern is that either a pedestrian or a cyclist will come a cropper one of these days and fall over."
The pavement work has been carried out by private contractors, Laser Civil Engineers.
A spokesman said they had carried out all the work fully under the supervision of the county council.
He added: "We were only notified about this problem last Wednesday and we will now be going out to the site as soon as possible to rectify the problem."
