THE Redditch & Bromsgrove branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society held a collection outside Currys store in Redditch on Saturday, April 24. This raised £54.24.
Our thanks go to the manager and staff at Currys for their co-operation in enabling us to do this and also to all the customers who gave us donations.
We also held two coffee mornings on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3. One was at Rowney Green, which raised £398, and one at Astwood Bank which raised £1,120.
We would like to thank everyone who helped to organise or who came and spent so generously at these events.
We are working hard at present to raise money to keep our welfare worker, whose post was financed originally through a lottery grant.
Her work is vital to the wellbeing of our members who have Parkinson's and to the support and encouragement she gives to the family and carers, whose lives are also affected by this dreadful and utterly relentless condition.
