A POLICE Community Support Officer from Redditch came to the rescue of an elderly man who collapsed in the bath last week.
Paul Gunnell was patrolling in Alcester with his colleague Lee Proud last Wednesday afternoon when a resident rushed out and asked them to help her brother.
The two men pulled the 89-year-old man out of the bath and called the ambulance which took him to the Alexandra Hospital.
Insp Tim Bailey, of Warwickshire Police, said: "In my mind, it is clear the prompt and professional attitude of the two officers helped the elderly gentleman to recover from his ordeal.
"This is an excellent example of how Community Police Support Officers provide a valuable community service."
