AT the May 1 meeting, Richard Lawrence gave a talk and slide show on native orchids of Australia.
The slides were excellent and it was an interesting afternoon.
There were some good plants on the monthly table show; points are awarded for culture and flower.
Two new members were welcomed.
At the next meeting on Saturday, June 5, Simon Pugh-Jones from Wrighlington School will be the speaker. The children at the school grow orchids and take care of them. They have become expert at growing in flasks and are aware of the need for conservation.
The society meets at Arden School, Station Road, Knowle, on the first Saturday of the month at 2.30pm. New members welcome. For details or advice, call 01564 822897.
