Later in the month, on Friday, May 28, the Whiskey Bandits will bring another unusual mix of rock n' roll and reggae to the popular town venue.
The following night the superb Dan Greenway will perform with his new band, Castaway.
"Dan has been playing at the Hop Pole since the beginning of time and has never failed to whip the audience into a frenzy on each occasion! A true showman," said Dave Thornton, co-owner of the pub.
All gigs kick-off at around 9pm and entry is free. Wannabe stars are also reminded that the pub holds an open mike night every Thursday.
