POLICE believe a fire at a printing works in Stourport was started deliberately and are appealing for anyone who saw anything unusual to come forward.
Two fire engines - one from Kidderminster and one from Stourport - were called to the fire at Peter Handley Stationery in Mitton Street at 11.30pm on Saturday night.
The fire, which took about an hour to put out, was in a paper storage area and caused damage to a door and paper.
Sgt Gerry Smith, of Kidderminster police, said: "Fortunately, the fire brigade attended this incident promptly and only minimal damage was caused to the paper store.
"However, this had the potential to be far worse and we are treating the incident very seriously."
Paul Liggins, a director of the company, said although the fire had caused damage it had not affected production.
Anyone with any information can call Sgt Smith at Kidderminster Police Station on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
