A DOCTOR from Kidderm-inster was one of the first people in Worcestershire to take part in the Government's new citizenship ceremony.
Dr Narayan Aryal said he was delighted to be one of the first people to swear allegiance to the Queen and loyalty to the United Kingdom.
The ceremony was held at County Hall in Worcester.
The 46-year-old was born in Nepal, studied to become a doctor in India and has been practising in Worcestershire for six years.
He said: "It's a great feeling to be one of the first five.
"I feel fully integrated, though it's up to the individual how they feel integrated. England is the best place to live and work.
"This is a good country. There are problems, such as the cold weather being terrible, compared with Nepal, which has a tropical climate."
Chairman of Worcestershire County Council, Councillor Derek Prodger, presented Mr Aryal with a British citizen's certificate at the ceremony.
