ATHLETICS: Kidderminster and Stourport can boast 16 county title holders after hosting the annual Worcestershire Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
The excellent results at the Alan Moreton Track in Stourport were spread over all age groups with several athletes gaining double honours.
Sprint specialist Daniel Bradley was declared a triple champion in the U-15s boys' 100 metres, 200m and 400m.
The U-13s girls trio of Emma Holder, Laura Baldwin and Clare Blakeway dominated the triathlon event, finishing first, second and fourth respectively.
Charlotte Berrington was also triumphant in the U-15s girls high jump and javelin, while Sarah Dyde starred in the U-20s women's discus and 400m.
Long and triple jump honours went to Lee Valentine in the U-17s boys and Dave Hall took the senior men's 800m and 1,500m events for the district athletic club.
Winners, females: U-13s - Holder (triathalon, 543 points); U-15s - Berrington (high jump, 1.50 metres; javelin, 23.13m); U-20s - Sarah Dyde (discus, 23.98m; 400m, 53.1 seconds), Laura Kyte (1500m, 4 minutes 54.9).
Males: U-15s - Bradley (100m, 12.2; 200m, 24.8; 400m, 57.2), Tom Sparkes (long jump, 4.56m); U-17s - Lee Valentine (long jump, 5.92m; triple jump, 12.77m); U-20s - Rhys Pritchard (400m, 53.3); seniors - Dave Hall (800m, 1-59.2; 1500m, 4-13.3), James Colclough (400m, 50.6).
Second places, females: U-13s - Laura Baldwin (triathalon, 455pts); males: seniors - Dave Bullock (100m, 11.9; 200m, 23.5).
Third places, females: U-20s - Elizabeth Dourneen (1500m, 5-11.1); males: U-17s - Aiden Dourneen (1500m, 4:20.8); U-20s - Matthew Granger (1,500m, 4-46.6).
Other places, females: U-13s - Blakeway (4th, triathalon, 390pts); U-15s - Caroline Park (6th, 800m, 2-44.1); U-17s - Rebecca Baldwin (6th, 100m, 14.7; 6th, 200m, 31.4), Ellie Laverty (6th, 1500m, 5-20.6).
Males: U-13s - Craig Baldwin (6th, triathalon, 342 pts), Robert George (8th, triathalon, 298pts), Adam Morris (12th, triathalon, 199 pts); U-15s - Sparkes (4th, 1,500m, 4-59.2), Adam Roberts (6th, 800m, 2-24.4).
There was also a weekend success for a Kidderminster girl who is a member of Halesowen Athletic Club.
Heidi Jarosinski became U-20s female county champion at Stourport with a great long jump of 5.11m.
