A DRIVER who fell victim to a £25,000 carjacking in a Worcestershire village fears he was targeted by a professional gang.
Two men attacked Christopher Kelsey and stole his Subaru Impreza in Holt Heath on Tuesday evening.
Mr Kelsey, a civil engineer from Rednal, near Birmingham, was leaving the Spar store, by the Holt Fleet bridge, at around 6.50pm, when the raid took place.
Jumped
"As I was returning to the car I opened it up and disabled the alarm, and, literally, just as I was getting in two youths jumped me," said the 34-year-old.
"One rugby-tackled me and pushed me against the car door smashing the glass. I wrestled on the floor with one lad while the other got into the car.
"You just feel shock. I heard them running and I started to turn around but it takes a few moments to find out what's going on. You quickly get the idea when you're on the floor, though.
"They threatened me to just go back in the shop 'or else' and I didn't know whether he'd got a weapon or anything. I made a decision not to try and leap on the bonnet or anything stupid."
Mr Kelsey was driving from his work in Cheltenham to visit his parents in Bewdley.
"They certainly knew what they were doing - they knew where the tracking device was in the car and disabled that."
Police have issued descriptions of the two men, who are both in their early 20s. One was white, with short, black, gelled hair and wearing jeans and a blue T-shirt.
Over face
He pulled the T-shirt over his face while the car was driven off towards Tenbury Wells by the second man, who was black and wearing jeans and a light-coloured T-shirt.
At the time of going to Press the police were unavailable for comment.
Anyone with information about the incident, which took place at around 6.50pm on Tuesday, is asked to contact police on 08457 444888, quoting incident number 154C/180504.
