A BEWDLEY teenager is a step closer to achieving her dream job dressing Hollywood film stars after gaining a place at one of the world's leading fashion colleges.
Jemma Ewins of Stour Lane, Bewdley, has been awarded one of only 20 places on a theatre costume design degree at London College of Fashion.
The 18-year-old, who is currently studying for a part-time City and Guilds qualification in pattern cutting, theatre costume design and corsetry at Inkberrow Design Centre, said she was delighted to have beaten 180 other hopefuls to the prestigious place.
She is due to start the three-year course at LCF in October, 2005, after completing a foundation course at Camberwell College of Art in London.
"I was elated when I found out because I had been wanting to go to LCF since I started my A levels, so it was like a dream come true - I couldn't believe it had happened," said the former Alice Ottley School, Worcester pupil.
"Initially, I'd like to work in the West End making costumes and then, maybe, go into the film industry.
"To work on some big production would be amazing and, if possible, I'd like to go to Paris and work at one of the haute couture houses."
