A poster designed by Vale schoolgirl Emily Young is helping draw the crowds to Pershore Carnival later this month..
Emily, aged 12, from Defford, answered the call for a young artist to interpret the theme of this year's carnival, Vision of the Future, into a striking design.
Her artwork was transformed into posters for Pershore's bank holiday party at the Pinvin offices of future-gazing printing firm Starsign UK.
The posters will soon be appearing across the Vale and beyond to promote the carnival on Monday, May 31.
Emily, a pupil of Pershore High School, has also won design competitions with a new logo for the Pershore Penguins swimming club and a playground dance area at Abbey Park Middle School.
This year's carnival includes a farmers market, craft fair, dog show, fire station open day, grand draw and the usual charity stalls and games on Abbey Park. The fancy dress procession will begin its walk through the town at 1pm, with people who want to get involved asked to meet in the Brandy Cask riverside gardens before 12.30pm. The prize for the best fancy dress is £50, with £25 for the runner up.
