THE inaugural Pool matches of the PRS League Junior Cup competition have been played in enthusiastic fashion.
Three pools of four pairs of play each other in a local pool that meets every month bet-ween April to July.
The eventual winners of each pool, plus the highest scoring runner-up, will then go on to play in at Bidford in August.
The teams finishing in the top two places will meet in a final to be played alongside the Men's Floodlit Final at Strat-ford on Sunday, September 5.
Alcester hosted Pool A but it was Inkberrow who proved too strong despite some closely-fought games.
Chris Smith and Ricky Allen began with a comfortable 6-1 win over Bidford's Scott Nash and Harry Naylor. They then went on to defeat Alcester's Tim Rice and Jack Bate 6-3.
The two defeated sides then met with Alcester edging it 6-4 on a day when Stratford failed to show up due to an administrative error.

Pool B was also one team short with Claverdon starting their campaign with no points.
It was Studley who emerged victorious after Jack Allum and Sam Hillpert-Smith first overcame hosts Tanworth-in-Arden's Andrew Turnbull and Laurence Tibbs 6-2 and then Henley's Richard Mason-Jones and Richard Ryan 6-3.
Henley overcame Tanworth 6-3 in the day's other match.

There was a full attendance for Pool C action at Ilmington where, in the first matches, Shipston's Lane and Moss defeated Ilmington's Gold-water and Buckingham 6-1.
On the other court, Chipping Campden's Robinson and Richards beat Moreton-in-Marsh duo Nott and Dartnell 6-4.
Shipston then went on to also beat Moreton 6-2, while the Ilmington duo claimed their first victory 6-2 over Camp-den.
In the final set of matches Shipston completed a clean sweep with a convincing 6-0 win over Campden, while Ilmington recorded the same margin of victory over More-ton.
