IT'S been a mixed start to the Evesham and District League campaign for the ladies from Evesham Rowing Club.
The summer season started with a flourish with a 3-1 defeat of Inkberrow but the tables were turned and Litt-letons A and Alcester proved too strong.
However, winning ways returned when Evesham overcame Campden 3-1 t hopefully get their season back on track.
Scores (v Inkberrow): Enid Walker & Julie Newman won 6-3, 6-3 & 6-4, 6-2. (v Alcester): Gill Stevens & Robin Rennie won 6-3, 7-6 & lost 1-6, 6-7; Walker & Sarah Lavender lost 4-6, 2-6 & 3-6, 2-6. (v Campden): Sarah Eaton & Kath Cowell won 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 & 6-2, 6-2; Nadine Preedy & Newman won 6-4, 6-1 & lost 1-6, 1-6.
