A PERSHORE man who receives approximately £85 a fortnight in benefits, has been fined more than £600 after admitting motoring offences.
Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday ordered Shane Abell, of Farleigh Road, to pay £200 for not having insurance and £50 for not having a valid licence, when he was stopped by police on the B4080 near Eckington, near Pershore, on Sunday, April 18.
He was stopped again on Tuesday, April 27 and fined a further £200 for no insurance, £50 for no licence and £50 for no MOT certificate.
Abell also admitted to stealing a bottle of wine from the Co-op in King George's Way, Pershore worth £4.49, on Monday, May 3.
For this, he was sentenced to seven days in jail. But since he had already spent in custody, this means he will be released tomorrow.
