I do feel your headline in the Malvern Gazette of May 5 'Brassed off with the Council' was unfair.
We, as the town council, voted very strongly in favour of Bands in the Park but if we don't have people willing to support these events what are we supposed to do?
Contrary to general belief, councillors work for free for the benefit of the town. Perhaps some of the people so ready to criticise us might be prepared personally to help support these excellent events.
Any money the town council spends is for all the people of Malvern, young or old. That money is paid by local people and as a council we have to limit our budget to their priorities - we can't afford to pay for marshals etc.
Instead of complaining, the people who want the bands to keep playing might consider a bit of DIY (in terms of marshals, organisers etc).
We need and want support.
