TWO women from Worcester will stand trial accused of sending electronic messages, which they knew to be false.
Donna Newman, aged 19, of Cranham Drive, and 26-year-old Sarah Mcmanus, of Leckhampton Close, both in Warndon, have been charged under the new Communications Act 2003 for causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another.
The pair were yesterday released on unconditional bail to return to Worcester Magistrates Court for a pre-trial review on Monday, July 5.
Charge denied
A TEENAGER has denied obstructing a city police officer in the course of his duties.
However, Omer Tekagac, of Foregate Street, Worcester, yesterday admitted to driving without a licence and not having any insurance.
Worcester magistrates heard that the 19-year-old was pulled over by police in Foregate Street on Sunday February 8.
He was released on unconditional bail to return to court on Thursday, September 9.
Man cleared
A WORCESTER man has been cleared of threatening to destroy property in a domestic dispute after the prosecution offered no evidence.
A not guilty verdict was recorded at Worcester Crown Court against 35-year-old Richard Gough, of The Tything, but he agreed to be bound over in the sum of £400 to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
