FAIRY tales and stories will be used to teach youngsters all about nature during a fun-filled woodland stroll at the weekend.
Conservation officer Rory McClure will lead children and their parents on a nature trail through Worcester's Countryside Centre pausing to tell traditional stories along the way.
Each tale will be based on Nature and promote awareness of the surrounding countryside and the need to preserve it.
"Woven into the stories will be the underlying themes of conservation, how woodlands are managed and the importance of insects," said Mr McClure, Worcester City Council's Project Greenspace officer.
"Fairy tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood are all set in woods and children start out by playing outside so it's this is the ideal way to teach."
The walk begins at 11am on Saturday at the Countryside Centre, beside County Hall, in Spetchley Road, Worcester. It is free and should last around an hour.
