Plymouth Admirals 0
Redditch Arrows 20
THE Redditch Arrows remain in top spot of the South West Conference Division Two after a convincing win in Plymouth.
And after their performance the Arrows can boast the best defensive record in the whole division which is something head coach Chris Halford is more than happy with.
He said: "The most pleasing aspect of the game for us is the continual improvement that our defence is showing.
"This was the second defensive shutout in consecutive weeks and currently is one of the top ranked defences in the entire Division Two."
Despite the long journey to the south coast the Arrows made a sensational start when running back Anthony Perkins went in for the opening score capitalising on an Admirals error.
But the Arrows could not maintain any real consistency in their offensive game in the remainder of the first half.
While the offence were struggling, the Arrows defence was in top form regularly forcing the Admirals offence to punt without making any real offensive gain.
The second half saw the Arrows change tack and the Admirals defense had difficulty in stopping the sharp visitors attack.
Perkins touched down again giving the Arrows a 14-0 lead before the end of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter again saw the Arrows controlling the game.
Plymouth had a couple of good drives without seriously threatening to score.
Arrows quarterback Dave Stanton then went to the air finding Steve Bell for a 20 yard gain to leave the ball on the home sides 20 yard line and then immediately hooking up with Bell again for another 20 yard reception in the end zone and a 20-0 lead.
The Arrows face old rivals Oxford Saints on Sunday June 6.
