A MAN is due to appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court this morning charged with murder following the death of city teenager Stuart Clark.

Gary Cunningham, aged 41, is due before the court at 10am.

Mr Clark, from Spring Hill, was found in Willow Court in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was taken by ambulance from the church housing association complex to Worcestershire Royal Hospital at around 3am, and later died.

Police today are reassuring residents in the community where he died that Stuart's death was a one-off incident.

The Evening News reported on Monday that people around Stanley Road were shocked by the death and West Mercia Constabulary has been quick to quash residents' fears.

Investigation

"Enquiries will continue in that area of the city for some time, but local residents need not be further concerned by the sight of a substantial number of both uniformed and plain clothes officers," said a force spokesman.

He said the extra officers have been drafted in to undertake "specific tasks" in relation to the investigation.

Police are also now renewing their appeal for witnesses or anyone who believes they know something that could assist detectives.

Stuart's death was the second tragedy to hit his family, after it emerged he was the son of the murdered Alexander "Sandy" Clark.

The disabled former soldier was beaten to death in his Arboretum home by career criminal Martin Rauwley two years ago, who is snow serving a life sentence for murder.

Anyone with information regarding Stuart's death can call police on 08457 444888.
