EARLY season struggles continued for Evesham as they find life in Division Three of the Birmingham League difficult to come to terms with.
It didn't get much better in the Worcestershire Clubs League the next day as Droitwich defeated the Avon Street men by four wickets.
The seconds lost the reverse fixture by double the margin but at least they managed to bring some cheer to the club after Saturday's four-wicket defeat of Old Elizabethans.
There was more bad news from the Cotswold Hills League where the club's third string conceded their Division Six match at Alve-church!
After winning the toss at Penkridge, the home openers both reached 50 and only the introduction of Stowe and Langstone (4-92) slowed down the run rate.
However, Brown's quickfire half-century lifted the Staffordshire side's total to an impressive 254-7 - a target Evesham never looked like threatening.
The top five all reached double figures but only Barry Clements (61no) went on to make the decent score needed in what proved a fruitless run chase that ended with the visitors all out for 192.
Warren Irvine and Richard Layton both hit half-centuries the next afternoon as Eve-sham posted a respectable 231. However, Droitwich sho-wed far more substance as they recorded a four-wicket success.
